| | Dawn prayers and other devotional gatherings are held in Bahá’ís’ homes, in a comfortable environment, with soft music and inspirational selected writings, where one can be still and connect with the creative power. | | | Forums are opportunities to discuss the Bahá’í perspective on current social issues. These forums may be a workshop, panel discussion or a seminar. They are conducted by facilitators with professional expertise in their field.
| | | An introductory course for people who are aware of the general principles of the Bahá’í Faith, and would like to develop a more comprehensive understanding of its spiritual and social perspectives. | | | Bahá’í children’s classes offer a systematic and well-organised programme for the spiritual education and character development of children. The classes are open to the public, with special emphasis on moral and character development, racial and cultural unity, the celebration of cultural diversity, the use of arts and music, and service activities. | | | The Wellington Bahá’í youth have long had successful weekly gatherings to which they bring their friends, socialise, and discuss topics of significant interest to them. They initiate projects of service to the community. | | | These are groups formed by approximately 5 to 10 people who meet regularly to study. The study programmes, based on the Bahá’í Writings, seek to promote personal spiritual transformation and empowerment, and to foster service to the community. The members of a study circle, both Bahá’í’s and friends, often participate in service activities that bind the group together in fellowship and attract others to this mode of learning. | | | You are warmly invited to attend one of the informal discussions which take place in private homes around Wellington. Hospitality and friendship are central features of these gatherings. Discussion centres on any aspects of the Bahá’í Faith which are of interest to the inquirer. | | | Wellington has a local supplier of Bahá’í books and resources (contact David 389-4311, but many more can be obtained through the national supplier, bds@bahai.org.nz, and the vast online Bahá’í community at www.bahai.org. |
